Review : Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2. Rating: 1/ 5
Can’t understand why producer Ekta Kapoor and director Diwakar Bannerji collaborated on this film? Who is the target audience? Those who dared to watch it in public theaters were disheartened crying "Dhokha, Dhokha, Dhokha”
This film seems to be a forced attempt to capitalize on the success of the original LSD, released 14 years ago, starring Rajkumar Rao and Nushrratt Bharuccha.
It’s portrays reality shows in a positive light, along with its depiction of how today's youth are negatively impacting their lives by becoming YouTubers influencer.
Acting:
(Paritosh Tiwari as Noor, Bonita Rajpurohit as Kullu, and Abhinav Singh as Shubham) All performances are commendable. However, established stars such as Tushar Kapoor, Mouni Roy, Anu Malik, Sophia Chaudhari, and Urfi Javed, who has garnered attention for provocative clothes, have insignificant roles in the film. Their involvement may leave even junior artists feeling embarrassed about their contribution.
I don't understand why these established actors accepted their roles. Even without their presence, the film wouldn't have been any different.
Overall, the film is a tedious drama lacking entertainment value, with subpar songs. Audience abandon the movie midway.
Box Office:
LSD 2 had a dismal opening and is expected to go out by Sunday.
The film faced censorship issues in several places due to excessive profanity, indicating a level that even the censor board found it intolerable.
Audience leaving the theater might feel they've lost their sanity. Perhaps the Oscars should introduce a new category specifically for films like this one, created by producer Ekta Kapoor.
The director of the film is Diwakar Banerjee, known for his 2006 hit Khosla Ka Ghosla. However, his subsequent films, such as Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Bombay Talkies, Byomkesh Bakshi, Lust Stories, Ghost Stories, and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, have all been box office flops.
It's puzzling why Diwakar Banerji continues to work on projects. His direction is lackluster. It doesn’t resonate with audiences, especially the youth for whom the film was intended.
I don't understand why the exhibitors chose to celebrate Cinema Lovers Day on Friday, which ultimately got cancelled, as the audience's enthusiasm for cinema is fading.
Not a single advance ticket has been sold. It appears that OTT platforms have taken over the box office. This might spell the end for the box office.
